Broiled Coriander Prawns with Turmeric Polenta

Yet another Indian spice inspired dish. I made these nibblers for my wine and cheese party. Plump, giant prawns (about 8 per pound) marinated with a paste of ginger, coriander, garlic and olive oil. Since I've been quite nostalgic for Summertime barbecues, I turned to the next best thing by throwing them under the broiler for a few minutes. It gives it a nice char in all the right places. Don't be surprised if the next few posts involve broiling.
Since I had an Indian spice inspired shrimp, it only made sense to do the same to the rest of the dish. I had chosen polenta for the second element of the dish. One carb and one protein. Besides the normal yummy butter and cream, I also gave the polenta a dose of coconut milk, tamarind paste and turmeric. I love the way the turmeric in the polenta transforms it from a baby chick-a-dee yellow to an electrifying, florescent shade. Just pops off the plate.

[das ist gut] I love prawns.  I remember when I was little, we went prawning spearing up in the mountains.  Came back with a bucket full and through them in the wok with some oil and garlic.  Wow, was that delish.
