Daria Daulat Bagh and Mysore Palace

When found out I would be working in Bangalore, India for three months, I was thrilled. I love to eat (all that spicy vegetarian friendly food), cook (hello spices from Cochin) and have a religious yoga practice (Om in Mysore). The little taste of India that I’ve gotten from Pioneer Blvd. has whet my palate for a few months of adventure. I’m ready to explore. Want to come along with me?

Despite our severe jet lag, we decided to take a road trip to Mysore on our second day in India. We stopped by Daria Daulat Bagh, a palace built by the Tipu Sultan in 1784. This was just about 12 km outside of Mysore and well worth the stop.

Next up on the intinerary was Mysore Palace including all the temples on the palace’s grounds. I was really impressed by all the intricate carvings on the temples. Though I was delirious from lack of sleep, I was glad that I was able to squeeze in a quick daytrip before the work week. I have a feeling the next few months are going to fly by.
