Tired of always making the same ol' banana bread with those ripe bananas??? I know I was. This week I found myself with four "too ripe for eating" bananas, and couldn't stand to make yet another loaf of banana bread. I picked my brain for inspiration. I wanted to make something fun and new. After thinking about it all day at work, I decided on profiteroles filled with caramelized bananas. I caramelized the bananas with a bit of brown sugar, cinnamon and a splash of bourbon. Out of nowhere.. ginger ice cream epiphany. I had made some ginger ice cream a few weeks back that would be perfect with the bananas. Mmm… warm, toasty profiterole fresh out of the oven, creamy ginger ice cream with a hint of spice, sweet, gooey bananas… all topped with hot chocolate sauce. Definitely a nice change from banana bread.
Your profiteroles look amazing. Have you heard of the blog Tastespotting.com? You should definitely start submitting your photography to it. They showcase food blogger’s posts and I think they’d love your ideas!
