From the makers of the bacon chocolate bar comes Wattleseed ice cream. Vosges makes ice cream too. Of course. If you're a sucker like me, you just can't resist a new foodie find. Aboriginal wattleseed is reminiscent of "cacao, coffee, hazelnut and vanilla". How could I say no? I told my friend Jamie yesterday, "It was only $10." She looked at me like I was crazy. Maybe I am… crazy for food. Darn those people at Vosges and their delicious. delectable desserts. I feel like that Jack-in-the-Box commercial. Why didn't I think of that???
Where did you find that? I have had Vosges ice cream at their store in Chicago. They don’t carry it in the winter though (or at least they didn’t when I lived there).
I thought it would be gross too, but somehow the smokiness of the bacon works well with the chocolate. Now bacon mints… that’s a whole different story.
Hi Chris… I found the ice cream at Market Gourmet. A little (tiny) shop on Abbott Kinney just south of Venice Blvd. Here’s their website: http://marketgourmet.biz/main.htm
Have you had the coconut curry flavor? That one looks good.
Thanks for the info. I will keep an eye out for it. It is good to know it is in LA County.
Honestly I can’t recall which flavors we tried. It was probably over two years ago now. But I do remember they didn’t have anything chocolate that day. And despite that it was all delicious. I am pretty sure though we tried the Wattleseed.
I am still working on a hat box that B got me when he went to Vegas.
You might also want to try Dr. Dobb’s ice cream. They are based in LA county so might be easier to find. High quality and you might be able to get 2 cartons for $10.
Why are we living parallel lives??? I just wrote a blog about the most amazing Vosges truffles AND I bought my husband a bacon bar for V-Day!!! Ugh…and now I learn they make ice cream too?? ::drools::
Is there a prominent flavor to the ice cream or are they all balanced?
My favorite Ice cream flavor od all time is chocolate with frozen mint bits…or was it praline…or white roses ice cream? Can’t seem to remember anymore.

I love bacon. I love chocolate. But the two together just don’t sound good to me!
