Morning Rituals

I spent so many–too many–years of my life bolting out of bed and running out the door at 6 am. No more. Now I take my time. Because, really, what’s the rush? Snooze once or twice. Channel your inner animal with a few cat stretches and downward dogs. Slow. it. down. And for Heaven’s sake treat yourself to some good coffee. You deserve it.

These are my morning rituals:

1. Mokapot coffee. This fella makes 3 shots. I have one shot straight up espresso-style and take the other two with me to work, Americano-style.

2. Fresh squeezed juice, of any sort. Often, it’s straight-up hand squeezed orange juice, but sometimes, I’ll get fancy and break out the juicer. Ginger, carrot, beet, and orange is a favorite. Or kale, apple, cucumber, and lemon is refreshing.
